The day after the Lucketts Spring Market 2018, I was sprawled out on my couch, getting some much needed rest and I had only one thought that kept running around my head: “Only 360 days till the next Lucketts”.
Ahhh, I had this grandiose idea that I was going to work on a new project every week leading up the LSM’19. I was going to be fully ready by March and have a full game plan put together.
Bahaha! I’m so funny when I’m sleep deprived.
Of course that didn’t happen. Other things came up that demanded my attention but Lucketts has always been waiting in the back of my mind.
Well, it is time to bring it to the forefront and begin preparing!
I can’t hold out much longer or it will turn into a mad-rush to get everything finished. It wouldn’t be so bad if I was just sourcing all of my items, cleaning them and setting up. I do a little of that but a lot of my prep time is completing 7-10 full piece makeovers. It is much more time consuming to come up with a vision and execute it on that many pieces, especially upholstery work. But a transformation is what TUDD is all about.

Just like the past 2 years, I will have a 10×20 space to fill. I’ll reuse the faux brick walls that I have and make sure to stock up on ironstone.
I’m planning on bringing more, smaller upholstered items, like sitting chairs as well as pillows and vintage carpets to fluff the space.
Last year was the first time that Marian aka Miss Mustard Seed wasn’t at LSM since 2010. She is a huge inspiration for me an I always looked forward seeing her furniture project posts at this time and everything that she was going to be totting to the market. The lead up was half the fun and actually being able to read about a particular piece and then see it in person made it very special. I’m no Miss Mustard Seed but I hope to generate some excitement in the same way and keep people update on the process.

Is there anything particular that you hope to find at this year’s Lucketts Spring Market? If the The Contrasting Settee doesn’t sell in my booth before LSM, it will be coming along and I’m excited to share all of the other projects that I’ll be working on over the next couple of months.
