Ya’ll have been hearing about the rugs for awhile now but I am finally posting about them.
I made it a goal…No… MY MISSION! To find and curate a collection of antique oriental, wool, woven and Turkish style rugs for my customers to purchase this year.
You might have noticed a serious up-tick of them being styled in people’s homes on Instagram and Pinterest. Also replicas being produced left & right by the big home stores and taste makers.
People like the rugs that aren’t in perfect condition and have a bunch of character and they’re usually – or used to be – less expensive.
A year or two ago it wasn’t that hard to find a good deal on an old, worn-out rug but it has become more difficult. Companies have actually started making rugs look like they have that old world, years-of-being-walked-on-look.
The high-end rug collectors and dealers have figured it out too. Previously they might not have given that tatter edge, faded rug a second look, now they are driving the prices up and out pricing the market that was buying them in the first place. Bummer.
I’m right there with you guys, I love them too! Its a great way to bring some old feel into the home without spending $600-$4,500 on something that will be put through the ringer over the years.
Like I said, I made it my mission to curate a little collection of rugs to sell at the Lucketts Spring Market and it is as follows (with measurements):
1. Rainbow Runner
170″x37.5″ – about– 14’x3′
2. Small Turkish runner
56″x31″ –about– 4.5’x2.5′
3. Orange oriental wood rug
62″x35″ –about– 5’x3′
4. Pink & Blue Turkish Rug
73″x49″ -about- 6’x4′
5. Blood Orange Pakistan Wool Rug
41″x57″ –about– 3.5’x5′
6. Blue & Green Vintage Wool Rug
66″x36″ –about– 5.5’x3′
7. Braided & Woven Turkish Rug
68″x48″ –about– 5.5’x4′
8. Turkish Hand knotted Wool Runner
82″x37″ –about– 7’x3′
9. Vintage Turkish Style Rug
109″x 72″ –about– 9’x6′ (The biggest of them all)
10. Dark Blue Turkish Wool Rug
77″x49″ –about– 6.5’x4′
10 beautiful rugs! Hopefully have the measurements available helps you find the perfect place for them to go in your home.
ALL of them have their own character flaws like old, worn rugs do but some of them are in great shape and have their original production tags. An extra bonus.
But that isn’t the end of this post. It would be a collection with some bonus accessories!
Rug pillows & The Rug Back Chair
All made from the same worn out rug.
Because I have never done anything like it before the chair was a challenge.
Sewing the pillows was also challenge because of the heavy material BUT not as much as the mental puzzle as the reupholstering the chair.
I can’t argue with the results! They are beautiful!
The pillows come in a variety of sizes and colors.
I am getting so many question about what the pillows will be priced at so I will just let you know that they will be ranging from $30-$50 each and depends on the size.
I’m not the only one bringing antique/vintage rugs!
We are only 3 DAYS AWAY FROM THE SPRING MARKET!
